At Tableau, our mission is to help people see and understand data through intuitive and powerful analytics software. The Tableau Provisioning team manages the infrastructure for Tableau's Continuous Integration (CI) systems, providing solutions to enable the development, testing, release, deployment, and operation of Tableau products at scale while optimizing costs.
What you will be doing
As a Software Engineer on the Provisioning team, your responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and automating processes and systems, including work breakdowns and tool selection.
  
• Providing technical leadership within your scope.
  
• Evaluating and optimizing existing processes and systems for efficiency.
  
• Leading platform upgrade projects.
  
• Managing patching, upgrading, validating, and releasing AMIs supporting CI systems across platforms.
  
• Participating in on-call activities, responding to service issues, and collaborating across teams to resolve them.
  
• Identifying opportunities and helping to operationalize AI solutions within your scope.
  
  Qualifications
  

• 
  
• 5+ years of industry experience coding commercial software and solving complex problems in large-scale distributed systems.
  
• Strong development skills in object-oriented languages (preferably Python), with good understanding of CI systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
  
• Experience leading projects using Agile methodologies.
  
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services and Terraform.
  
• Good understanding of Linux, macOS, and Windows systems.
  
• Bash shell and Windows PowerShell experience is a plus.
  
• Strong understanding of the agile software development lifecycle.
