• Required Certifications: BLS only required for surgical techs.
  • Job Details
  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced OR Tech for a travel contract.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS.
    • Must have at least 2 years experience.
    • Endo experience is preferred.
    • Prefer nurses have experience with recovery and/or pre-op. If they do not have experience with recovery, they will teach them or they will not have to work that area.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts are 8Hr shifts with staggered start times.
      • Some will start earlier & some will start a bit later.
      • Shift Details: 8 Hour shifts
      • Weeknight/Call Requirement: No set requirement for call. It is divided up between staff. RNs typically take 6-8 shifts of call per month.
      • Weekday call is anything after 3:15 pm or at the end of the surgery day. (Min 96Hrs per month).
      • Weekend/Call Requirement: Call required only - 24Hr call
      • Holiday/Call Requirement: 24Hr call required for holidays.
      • Call response time: 45 minutes.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # suites 2 OR suites & 1 endo suite.
        • # of cases per day 10-20 cases per day & 20+ colonoscopies per week done in endo suite.
        • Common Cases: General surgery, ortho, Gyn, endo, pain
        • Scrubbing required - RN's Preferred.
        • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: No
        • OR techs: Yes
        • EMR: Meditech
        • Floating Requirements: May have to float to recovery. They have dedicated pre-op nurses, some are cross-trained to do endo.
        • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs provided.
        • Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 shifts.
          • Additional Details
          • Candidates MUST be aware of the rural environment of the hospital.
          • Days, 5x8s, call required, EOW, first to float.
