Role specifics and benefits. As a Labor and Delivery RN, you’ll be a pivotal member of the obstetric team. Key responsibilities include monitoring labor progress, fetal and maternal assessment, administering medications safely, and supporting labor and birth plans with sensitivity and clinical precision. You’ll assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, manage postpartum recovery, and provide lactation support and newborn care in collaboration with pediatric partners. You’ll educate families on newborn care, postpartum self-care, and recognition of warning signs, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.
