Based Outpatient Clinic, Livermore, CA as a Physician – Medical
Director, Community Based Outpatient Clinic Supervisor! This is

opportunity to serve as a Medical Director for a Community Based
Outpatient Clinic VA Primary Care Clinic and work with a dynamic,
collaborative, and engaged local leadership team to manage high
quality & efficient health care on site. At VA Palo Alto Health
Care System, Livermore VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, we
stress the principles of servant leadership; the Medical Director
will benefit from training and gain experience in effective
communication, data management, and process improvement for success
on the front line. Managerial duties will include staff deployment
& leave administration, human resources management & labor
relations, professional practice review & evaluation, and planning
& implementation around existing system imperatives. The Medical
Director will also have freedom and support to explore and develop
or tailor new initiatives and projects to meet service performance
metrics and/or health system strategic goals at their sites. The
role will afford regular mentorship and interaction with Service
level & Executive Leadership, including daily huddling, recurring
site and system wide meetings, and championship of one or more
broad performance metrics. The Medical Director will have a reduced
clinical load commensurate with the size/complexity of the site and
the number of staff reports. Additional reductions may be
considered for additional skills and work in various areas of key
interest such as whole-health deployment. Benefits and Features
Expected Salary range from $303,077 to $325,000 (negotiable based
on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience). Work
Schedule: Full-time. Schedule will be determined by supervisor.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary
increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time-off per year (26
days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal
holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and
federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal
insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1
full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with
board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with
tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract
and no significant restriction on moonlighting. We encourage you to
