Description This position requires an interest in wine and a passion for serving customers. To be successful, you'll need to be detail oriented; develop creative solutions to problems; and manage your time wisely with limited supervision.The most successful candidates will be able to make educated decisions on various wine varietals and recall details about their customers to anticipate their needs.This role will require the development of new customers.Communication is critical in our success, and candidates must be adept at making phone calls.This is not a tasting room position, nor does this involve retails sales. This is B2B sales. Travel expectations are minimal with most business being conducted over the phone. Responsibilities Make educated decisions on different wine varietals and recall details about their customers to anticipate their needs.Have an in-depth knowledge of different wine varieties, their characteristics and the impact of AVA on those varieties.Be willing to conduct product tastings onsite or at customer locations.Be willing to transfer and accepts accounts between team members.Maintain a swift response rate and resolution to customer inquiries in accordance with company guidelines. Effectively and concisely communicate with customers to follow-up on requests for wines.Meets agreed upon goals and objectives. Meet monthly and yearly sales targets.Arrives on time or early to appointments and events.Prioritize goals and daily tasks. Must be a self-starter.Keep meticulous records.Build sales opportunities from cold calls.Collaborate and cooperate with sales team members to close sales opportunities.Coordinate logistics with production team, winemaking team and your customer.Develop new sales opportunities with existing and new accounts.Build customer and supplier relationships.Follow all company policies, including on price quotations and availability of products.Understand wine industry and predict market trends to provide reliable advice to customers.Experience with CRM platform, specifically Zoho CRM, is a plus.Visit suppliers/vendors and pick up materials.Perform will-call activities when required: packaging and delivering samples to customers or to FedEx for shipment.Attend meetings as necessary.Investigate customer concerns to ensure a positive experience for our customers.Accept and perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements 1) Must like wine.2) Must excel as a problem solver.3) Must have a bachelors degree.4) Must be able to describe the differences between varietals, e.g. Chardonnay vs. Sauvignon Blanc, etc.5) Have a working knowledge of the m--thode champenoise sparkling wine process.6) Have a working knowledge of the Lodi wine region and its wines.7) Be highly motivated and able to work independently.8) Have the ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities.9) Maintain high standards of communication, organization, professionalism, and have a sales-oriented attitude.10) Be innovative, proactive, and highly adaptable and comfortable with change.11) Demonstrate a commitment to doing things "the right way" with a high level of attention to detail and high personal standards of performance.12) Have progressive sales experience, preferably in the wine industry.13) Have an operable vehicle and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and insurance.14) Must be able to type +/60 wpm.15) Must have an operable mobile phone.16) Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite of products, GSuite, Adobe pdf, etc.17) Must have excellent phone skills to build account relationships and produce professional email communications. Physical Standards 1) Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift 50+ pounds.2) Move cases of wine in and out of a car, as necessary.3) Some repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping required.4) Handle will-calls by receiving/picking up product from other wineries and delivering to the winemakers and/or to FedEx shipment sites.5) Regular working schedule that may include some evenings or a weekend.6) Must be able to spend a significant amount of time talking on the phone and/or sending emails.7) Must be vaccinated against COVID-19.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits: Employee discount Health insurance Paid time offSchedule: Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:All employees must be vaccinated for COVID.Ability to commute/relocate: Lodi, CA 95242: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Application Question(s): I need a red wine that is easy drinking, fruit forward and well known.
